Rome airport workers stage strike

Travelers at Rome<.>`s Fiumicino<.> Airport suffered delays on November 20 when transport workers staged a four hour strike leading to the cancellation of some 32 Alitalia flights. The strike was in protest to proposed job cuts, announced after the September 11th terrorist attacks in the United States.

Airlines such as France`s Air France, Lufthansa, TAP Air Portugal, Spain`s Iberia and BMI British Midland were hit by the action.
