Swain tours no longer USTOA member
Thursday, July 13, 2006
USTOA President Bob Whitley has confirmed that Ian Swain, president of Swain Tours, has purchased 100% ownership of the company from Travel Corp. Whitley stated that under USTOA bylaws a company must be under the same continuous management or ownership for three years in order to remain eligible for membership. Therefore Swain Tours no longer qualifies to be a member of USTOA.

Accordingly, deposits and payments made to Swain Tours prior to July 8th 2006 are protected under the USTOA Traveler`s Assistance Program; but deposits and payments made after July 7th 2006 are not protected under the Program. We look forward to welcoming Ian Swain and Swain Tours back to USTOA in the near future, added Whitley.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
