Air India`s Commodore new managing director of Hotel corporation of India

Commodore D. Jena has taken over as Managing Director of Hotel Corporation of India (HCI), Air India’s subsidiary, on 1 September 2006. He was previously the Principal Director at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi. A highly decorated naval officer with 35 years commissioned service in the Navy, Cmde. Jena was decorated with Nao Sena Medal and Vishish Seva Medal for exceptional devotion to duty.

HCI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India which was set up in the year 1971 with an authorised capital of Rs.41 crores and a paid up share capital, which is held by Air India, of Rs.40.60 crores. Presently, it has two Flight Kitchen Units at Mumbai and Delhi and a five star hotel near IGI Airport, Delhi. HCI also owns hotel property on the banks of the Dal Lake in Srinagar.

The Flight Kitchen at Mumbai, Centaur Hotels at Delhi and Srinagar have been showing improved performance over the last two years.
