Greece targets asian markets, signs cooperation agreement with Thailand
Wednesday, September 06, 2006
After South Korea, the Greek Ministry of Tourism Development proceeded in to a new agreement with the Kingdom of Thailand. The Greek Minister of Tourism, Ms. Fani Petralia and the Vice-President of the governement of the Kingdom of Thailand, Dr Surakiart Sathirathai, signed a cooperation agreement in tourism.

Ms. Petralia and Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai agreed to help increase the tourists` numbers and to provide a mutual promotion of their tourism product through advertising material and exchange of information in vital aspects of their countries tourism industry.

As Ms. Petralia commented, This agreement is a very important step for the development of the relations of the two countries. Thailand is a very popular destination for Greeks and after the Olympic Games in Athens more people from Thailand visit Greece. The agreement does not only concern the increase of the tourist movement between the two countries but also the investments opportunities.

I am very satisfied that Thailand and Greece reached this tourism agreement. We can cooperate in cultural, economical and commercial level. As far as tourists are concerned Greece and Thailand can create and establish mutual packages emphasing in cultural tourism, Dr. Sathirathai said.

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
