Middle East Duty Free Association annual conference takes place in November
Friday, September 15, 2006
The 5th Middle East Duty Free Conference, organised by TFWA for the Middle East Duty Free Association with assistance from Martin Moodie of The Moodie Report, will take place on 23rd and 24th November this year. The annual event will be held in the luxurious Al Bustan Hotel in Dubai, and will feature presentations by key figures in the local industry and the aviation authorities, original consumer research, and excellent networking opportunities.

Over 300 delegates are expected to attend the Middle East Duty Free Conference this year, an event which will address issues affecting the development of airport retailing, retailing of luxury goods and customer service in the Middle East. The region has experienced unprecedented growth in duty free sales in the last five years and there is no sign at present of this diminishing.

The Conference will cover developments in the air transport infrastructure, the introduction of new aircraft, the challenges and opportunities facing suppliers and operators in the region and the benefits to be gained from close business partnerships.

Among the social elements will be a sumptuous Gala Dinner, sponsored cocktails and refreshments, and a Desert Safari which will allow delegates plenty of time to network with existing and potential business partners.

Interested delegates are urged to block the date in their diaries now and to prepare themselves for a challenging interactive conference.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
