Dublin Convention Bureau welcomes a number of new members to the fold
Monday, October 09, 2006
Several new members were welcomed to the DCB fold of Dublin Convention Bureau. Jean Evans, CEO, said We are thrilled that several more exciting tourism businesses in the city have joined us, allowing DCB to offer an even broader and more diverse range of high quality and professional suppliers to our clients.

New members in the hotel category include the 4 star Jurys Croke Park Hotel and the newly refurbished Lynch Green Isle Hotel at Newlands Cross.

Venues that have recently signed up to DCB are the Abbey Tavern, the Royal Hospital Kilmainham and the Marino Conference Centre.

The creation of a new Destination Management Company category within the DCB membership has led to CIE Tours International and Jigsaw Management joining in recent months.

A truly innovative new addition to DCB is Childcare Solutions. Directors James and Linda Browne have many years combined experience in the hospitality and childcare sectors and identifying a gap in the market, established Childcare Solutions to provide complete consulting services for childcare needs at all events. Childcare Solutions is unique in that they come to the client and set up the childcare facilities onsite at major sporting events, conferences and corporate events.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
