Travelport Asia is one of this year’s corporate sponsors at Wired Travel Asia (WTA) 2006, the region’s top travel distribution and marketing conference, held from 26 – 27 October 2006 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore.

Travelport’s Brad Holman, Managing Director Airline Services, Galileo, Asia Pacific, is participating in a conference session titled Airline Distribution - Low Cost Everything. During his presentation, Holman will share Travelport’s views on the changing airline distribution model of Low Cost Carriers, in particular the impact on the Asian market and how Travelport, as a leading GDS provider, is responding to these changes.

“As a leader in the travel industry, one of Travelport’s fundamental objectives is to anticipate trends and develop solutions that arm the industry with innovative technology and products that help make change easier to manage. This is the key reason for participating in and sponsoring various aspects of Wired Travel World 2006,” said Holman.

Travelport is also sponsoring this year’s Wired Student Project called the Blair Witch Project, This will feature a group of students who will present their views on what young travellers really want out of their travel experiences, from online travel websites to hotels and airlines.

“The Wired Student Project came about because we thought it would be useful for travel professionals to engage with their future customers and to listen to their views,” said Yeoh Siew Hoon of Wired Ventures, organizer of Wired Travel Asia.
“These students also represent the future of travel from a talent standpoint. They need to be convinced travel has a future for bright minds,” she added.
