Thursday, November 30, 2006
youtravel.com striked again with the appointments of Vasilis Syngelakis and Ian Coyle to key positions.Vasilis Syngelakis is appointed as from December 1st as Group Hotels Director and Product Strategy. Vasilis was acquired from Electra Group of Hotels where he spent few months as Sales Director. Before his employment with Electra Group, Vasilis spent 4 years as Purchasing Director in Medhotels & Lastminute, and 15 years to Jetair (part of TUI group).

Ian Coyle is appointed as from December 1st as International Sales & Marketing Director. Ian was doing consultancy for the past months, where previously he has spent 9 years with Holiday Autos as Sales & Commercial Director.

John Kent said those two appointments are coming to further strengthen our management team here at youtravel.com; Ian will be leading the International Sales and we expect that with his experience he will be able to successfully manage and lead the increased demand for our product in European markets. Vasilis is coming to further strengthen and lead our purchase and product team, so as we are able to deliver the most competitive product in the market, despite any aggressive tactics that we have recently seen in the marketplace.

John has added that We are currently looking into different acquisitions avoiding giving further details.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
