Ken Dychtwald, Ph.D., widely viewed as one of the foremost authorities on lifestyle, marketing, and workforce implications in United States, will deliver the keynote opening address during the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) on January 22, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Calif.

Dychtwald is founding president and CEO of Age Wave, a firm that guides companies and government groups in product/service development for baby boomers and mature adults. His extensive client list has included nearly half of the Fortune 500.

Dychtwald has addressed nearly two million people worldwide in his speeches to corporate, association, and government groups, and is known for his unique ability to blend cutting edge social science and marketing wizardry with presentation showmanship. His predictions are regularly featured on 60 Minutes, CNN, PBS, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Financial Times, Fortune, Time, Newsweek Business Week, Inc., and U.S. News & World Report. He was recently honored by American Demographics Magazine for being the single most influential leader in understanding and marketing to aging boomers during the past quarter century.

Dychtwald is a psychologist, gerontologist, entrepreneur, and best-selling author of books on aging-related issues, including Bodymind; Age Wave; Age Power: How the 21st Century will be Ruled by the New Old; Demography is De$tiny; and Re-Visioning Retirement, The Power Years. His most recent book is “Workforce Crisis: How to Beat the Coming Shortage of Skills and Talent.”

“The hotel industry is rapidly changing and customers drive much of that movement. Ken’s insights into population trends and their impact on both travel behavior and how to solve looming workforce challenges will be of great interest to ALIS delegates,” said BHN President and ALIS Chairman Jim Burba.
