Thomas Cook`s UK boss to drive the company

Manny Fontenla-Novoa the UK boss of Thomas Cook is to take the charge of Thomas Cook AG after his appointment by the executive board of the holiday group. He replaces Thomas Holtrop the former chairman of the board. This appointment comes after the company’s intention to take over First Choice’s Mainstream Holidays division.

This appointment of the Thomas Cook board is a clear signal of the company to drive in to a new strategic direction. As the company states We don’t need revolution, but a lasting evolution of our business models and we want management and partners that will forward this model. That is why we promote more in our core business and we will develop further but for the time being that remains the supporting leg of our business.

The company believes that Manny Fontenla Novoa will drive company’s operations in a more sufficient way. Fontenla-Novoa last year led Cook UK to a pre-tax profit of
