Aviapartner appoints executive vice president ground handling
Monday, December 18, 2006
Nigel Daniel has been appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer Handling Services for the whole Aviapartner network. In the context of the reorganisation of the group into four business lines (Cargo, Handling, Catering, Technics), moving away from its traditional geographical structure in countries, Nigel Daniel will hold full responsibility over the Business Line Handling, for all operational, commercial and financial aspects.

Before joining Aviapartner, Nigel was Executive Vice President, Europe, Africa, Asia at Swissport International and Chief Executive of Swissport UK, as a result of the purchase of Groundstar by Swissport in April 2004, where he already held the position of Managing Director.

Theo Dilissen, CEO of the Aviapartner Group: “We’re looking forward to working with a proven industry specialist such as Nigel Daniel. He enjoys extensive experience in our sector in both commercial and operational aspects. Having him on board will be instrumental in further growing the business across the entire range of carriers throughout our network and highlighting our position as a leader of integrated network deals in Europe.”

In his new position, Nigel Daniel will report directly to Theo Dilissen and will be based in the group’s Head Office in Brussels.

Poll
How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
