Anvil Group launches employee travel monitoring system for travel agencies
Friday, February 09, 2007
An agency edition of Anvil Group`s Employee Travel Monitoring System (ETMS) for travel agencies and travel management companies will be launched by the company at the Business Travel Show. “With the reform of the corporate manslaughter bill just months away, it has never been more important for businesses to know the whereabouts of all their travellers, in order to maintain duty of care obligations,” comments the Technical Director at The Anvil Group, Matthew Judge.

“Many travel management companies and agencies claim that they can provide detailed traveller location information instantaneously in the event of an incident. The reality is that the majority cannot and those that can typically offer flight only tracking. The ETMS includes flight, rail and hotel only tracking as standard.”

In addition to the ETMS, The Anvil Group will be demonstrating its Travel Risk Intelligence System (TRIS), an Internet based application that monitors international incidents and potential threats (such as health warnings, crime, terrorism or extreme weather conditions) and provides travel managers and security personnel with round the clock, accurate and up-to-date information across every country in the world.

“TRIS is an early warning system that enables travel associated risk to be assessed, providing a foundation on which to make informed decisions about business travel plans,” adds Judge.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
