New members to join Dublin Convention Bureau in 2007
Wednesday, February 28, 2007
2007 is already looking very promising for Dublin Convention Bureau with five new members joining the not-for-profit destination marketing organization since the New Year. Jean Evans, CEO, said We are very pleased that several new venues and properties have decided to come on board, especially coupled with the fact that our retention rates of existing members have also increased. This allows us to confidently offer our clients the very best suppliers in the city in terms of quality, customer focus and professionalism and is a win-win situation for everyone concerned.

New hotel members are the 4 star deluxe Park Plaza Tyrrelstown and the 3 star Camden Court Hotel. Other members include the Emmaus Conference Centre in the north of Dublin which have recently completed a €4.5million refurbishment and Custom Ireland a Destination Management Company (DMC) established in 1996. Finally, the Kildare Village will bring outlet Shopping to Ireland for the first time.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
