Record number of travel companies participate in the online travel auction for kids

Seeking to explore far away places on the planet? Consider the Kids First Fund collection of exotic destinations and experiences. The array of global destinations is so large, it virtually covers the entire alphabet. For the letter “V” you can bid on travel to Vail, Vancouver, Venice, Vienna, Villahermosa, Villinius and even Vanuatu.
The 4th annual International Online Travel Auction for Kids features travel companies based in Europe, Canada, the South Pacific and the United States - - it’s the largest travel auction on the planet to benefit children.
Beginning March 15, savvy travelers can spend time in great destinations while also benefiting abused children in resource poor regions of the world by participating in the 2007 auction. The Kids First Fund, a U.S.-based not-for-profit organization, will host the online auction of airline tickets, hotel packages and unique travel experiences. The 2007 event starts at 4:00 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) on March 15 at www.KidsFirstAuction.com with more than 100 items and will close on March 27.

Avis Rent a Car, Budget Rent a Car, Condor, Delta Air Lines, Delta SkyMiles, Destination Hotels & Resorts, Flybaboo Airlines of Geneva, Fosshotel Iceland, Frontier Airlines, Funjet Vacations, Hawaii Superferry, Hilton Hotels, Icelandair, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Japan Airlines, JetBlue, Lake Michigan Carferry, Marcus Hotels and Resorts, Mercure by Accor Hotels, Midwest Airlines, Monarch Airlines, Sofitel Hotels & Resorts, Spirit Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, United Airlines Mileage Plus, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Blue Airlines, Vueling Airlines
and Xanterra Parks and Resorts participate in the 2007 event. Many of the donor companies have contributed multiple items to the auction.
The funds from this year’s auction will be contributed to fund the construction of a million dollar family shelter for women and children in the Republic of Latvia. The shelter will create a safe refuge for abused children and their mothers in the rural and very needy Latgale region of Latvia.
