Minor International appoints VP of marketing
Friday, March 30, 2007
John Griffin has been appointed as the Vice President of Marketing for Minor International, the hotel developers and operators in Asia region. Griffin, an Australian national, will oversee global marketing execution, including marketing strategy, branding, message articulation and communications for Minor International’s growing resort brand, Anantara and future brand launches that complement Minor’s growth into global hotel management.

In his new role, Griffin will be based in the Bangkok corporate offices of Minor International.

We are delighted that John has joined Minor International, said Michael Sagild, COO of Minor International. His collective experience at American Express, Leo Burnett and Le Meridien will be extremely valuable in helping us maximise Minor International’s opportunities as a leader in hotel development and management.

William E. Heinecke, Chief Executive Officer, said: I am very happy to have John as part of our executive management team. He is an outstanding individual, an established leader, and brings to us a wealth of experience in his respective field. I am confident that with his added expertise, Minor International is further positioned for continued growth and success.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
