Hotusa includes new associated hotels in its portfolio
Thursday, April 12, 2007
Hotusa Hotels has enlarged its portfolio with the addition of 36 new associated hotels, thus reinforcing its privileged position amongst the main hotel consortia world-wide. Of these new associated hotels, 21 are in Spain whilst the remaining fifteen form part of its international network.

As detailed in the table below, during the past month, 14 establishments have been added to Hotusa’s international portfolio, in Switzerland (3), Sweden (3), Italy (3), Argentina (2), France(1), Denmark (1), Mexico (1) and the U.S.A. (1). At national level, the new associated establishments are located in Galicia (4), Land of Valencia (3), Andalusia (2), Madrid (2), Basque Country (2), Aragon (1), Asturias (1), Balearic Islands(1), Castilla-La Mancha (1), Castilla & Leon (1), Catalonia, Extremadura (1) and Navarra (1).

The objective of the organization is to enlarge and diversify its portfolio with the addition of hotels both in the traditional destinations as well as in the emerging tourist markets on a world-wide scale. In this context, last January, the Hotusa Group added its first associated hotel in China. Hotusa, likewise, has plans to continue the expansion on the continent of Asia over the following months, with new additions both in China - given the enormous tourist interest that this destination arouses as host to the 2008 Olympic Games - India and other S.E. Asian countries.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
