SITA will provide BagManager, which provides a tracking and reconciliation system for baggage at single and multi-airport locations, for John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport’s Terminal 4. We are in the process of implementing SITA`s BagManager, which is integrated with our information systems so that the airlines and their ground handlers can load aircraft more efficiently and locate baggage more quickly, said Daryl Jameson, IT Director for Terminal 4, JFK IAT, LLC.
John F. Kennedy International Airport is the top international gateway to the U.S. and the amount of baggage passing through our terminal is extremely important to the millions of departing passengers every year. We are committed to employing the best and latest technology to give our airline customers and their passengers a hassle-free experience at JFK.
BagManager has been developed to reconcile bags with passengers as they move through and between airports. The system provides positive passenger bag match, ensuring that passengers and their bags travel together on the same aircraft. JFK’s Terminal 4, which processed 5.5 million bags last year, will benefit from this new system states SITA.
“JFK International Airport is a key location in the U.S. for both domestic and international travel. By implementing BagManager at JFK Terminal 4, the terminal users will be able to handle the growing numbers of bags through the airport,” said Sandra Girona, SITA vice president of sales and relationship management, North America. “Our experience with baggage reconciliation and tracking is the most comprehensive in the industry. For example, SITA’s WorldTracer is known worldwide and used by nearly 400 airlines and ground handling companies.”
