Monday, May 21, 2007
The world known sailing ship of the 19th century and attraction for thousands of tourists was caught fire early on Monday morning (21st May). The fire caused severe damages to the famous Cutty Sark which is moored in Greenwich.

Local authorities were forced to stop metro’s itineraries (DLR) in Docklands due to the fire. Eight vehicles of the fire department and 40 men were at the fire scene to stop the fire from expanding.

The sailing ship had been constructed in 1869 and carried wool from Australia and tea from China till 1938 when it made its last trip.
