Visit London welcomes new London 2012 emblem
Friday, June 08, 2007
Visit London has welcomed the new London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games brand describing it as dynamic, innovative and inspirational. Visit London Chief Executive James Bidwell said: “2012 has fast become an established iconic year. This is due to the unique combination of perhaps the most powerful movement on the planet, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the most dynamic city in the world, London. Both represent diversity and inspiration, and as we build on London’s history of success, the new London 2012 brand represents the vibrancy, youth and sustainability of this great city.”

Mr Bidwell said the emblem’s cutting edge design was reflective of London’s status as the world’s number one city destination for international travel and as the gateway to the UK.

“As we gear up to London 2012, this new emblem will be a unifying visual symbol for everyone – Londoners, visitors and people around the world. The London 2012 brand will particularly appeal to the younger, digital savvy generation and I expect it to be a powerful, positive force for our city,” Mr Bidwell said.

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
