DWTC and UFI join forces
Wednesday, June 13, 2007
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) have joined forces to offer regional managers, government officials, project managers, and event organizers the chance to obtain a specialised degree in event management. This is the first academic programme of its kind ever to be offered in the region.

The Dubai World Trade Centre is committed to developing the standard of the events industry in the Middle East. As part of our continued efforts to attract and facilitate globally acclaimed academic initiatives in Dubai, we are proud to be co-hosting UFI`s first EMD programme in this region, said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.

Educational programmes like EMD, are highly beneficial, especially in a region that is witnessing such rapid growth. With its unmatched experience in organising and educating industry professionals, UFI will enable us to work together to develop and improve local industry standards to meet the exacting requirements of international organisers, added Al Marri.

The DWTC and UFI will co- host the EMD course in Basic Exhibition Management 1 from August 11 to 16, 2007, and the Advanced Studies in Exhibition Management II course from January 19 to 24, 2008.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
