ALHI expands international luxury hotels portfolio
Tuesday, June 19, 2007
To meet the growing demands of North American meeting planners in this increasingly global marketplace, Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has expanded its international membership with the addition of its first hotels in South America. The luxurious Caesar Park Rio de Janeiro – Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro is ALHI’s first member in Brazil. While the impressive Caesar Park Buenos Aires in Buenos Aires is Associated Luxury Hotels’ first member in Argentina, according to David Gabri, president and CEO of Associated Luxury Hotels.

“We’re thrilled to add these exceptional South American hotels as outstanding international options for our meeting professional and incentive specialist clients,” said Gabri. “Our clients have been telling us that they seek more international options with us, so we’re excited to add these impressive hotels to our luxury portfolio. Now planners can have easy access to these outstanding properties and the entire portfolio by one call to our ALHI National Sales Network.”

These newest members join such other ALHI international members as Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Resort and the new AQUA in Cancun, plus the Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos in Mexico; Pan Pacific Vancouver and Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside in British Columbia, Canada; La Samanna on St. Martin in the French West Indies in the Caribbean; the renowned Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St. Andrews, Scotland; the magnificent InterContinental Paris Le Grand Hotel in Paris, France; the newly renovated InterContinental London Park Lane in London, England; and the Grand Hotel Parco Dei Principi in Rome, Italy.

“These two hotels are exceptional additions that fit perfectly with the quality and reputation of our impressive portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts worldwide,” said Gabri. “They really complement our collection of luxury hotels and resorts in the U.S. that serve meetings and incentive programs so well. Our experienced ALHI National Sales professionals can now work and assist meeting professionals to find the perfect fit and unique solution for their programs for whatever meeting, incentive, convention or exhibition program they’re planning.”

Associated Luxury Hotels also has four other Caribbean members on the U.S. Commonwealth island of Puerto Rico, including: El Conquistador Resort & Golden Door Spa, Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino, El San Juan Hotel & Casino, and Westin Rio Mar Beach Golf Resort & Spa to serve meetings and incentive programs.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
