New web categories added for Adrian Awards
Thursday, August 09, 2007
Raising the annual Adrian Awards – the “Oscars” of the travel and hospitality marketing industry – to even greater heights are a series of enhancements and improvements to the 2007 competition. Travel and hospitality marketers will find a significantly expanded web marketing component, with added categories such as search, social and new media in response to the current trends and technologies utilized by today’s top interactive agencies.

In addition, the categories in both advertising and public relations have been revamped for greater understanding, clarification and ease of entering.

Furthermore, the online process had been streamlined with a new “completed entry” check list, and 24-hour insider support has been added to help marketers reach the coveted Platinum status.

A renowned program of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), this worldwide competition is the much anticipated venue for the industry to show-off their creativity, talent and ROI-producing pieces, programs and campaigns. The Adrian Awards honors innovation, action-producing advertising, public relations and web marketing in hospitality, travel and tourism and is the largest and most prestigious worldwide travel marketing showing of the industry’s top talent.

The Adrian Awards applauds and heralds vision and execution...exactly where the world’s largest industry needs to focused, notes Rene Mack, president, Travel Marketing Group, Weber Shandwick.

Lynn Martenstein, vice president of corporate communications for Royal Caribbean International states: The Adrian Awards are an affirmation of effective integration and collaboration amongst powerful and creative teams.

Entries are being accepted online through Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 and must be submitted online.

Winners will be showcased on Jan. 28, 2008 at the New York Marriot Marquis during the 18th annual Adrian Awards Gala, a multifaceted, black-tie networking event featuring award-winning work, lifetime achievement, and the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
