Aviapartner signs newtwork contract with Vueling
Thursday, August 23, 2007
A network contract has been signed between Aviapartner and Vueling, covering all their destinations where their network and Aviapartner’s match. This involves the stations of Milan, Rome, Venice, Brussels and Amsterdam. The contract is signed for a period of 3 years and based on the current volumes it represents a value of around € 20 million turnover over the full contract period.

Aviapartner has already been handling Vueling in Milan, Rome, and Venice for some time. With the new network contract, Aviapartner is adding Brussels and Amsterdam for the provision of ground handling services, for 2 daily flights in Brussels (going up to 4 daily flights by the winter 2007) and 7 daily flights in Amsterdam. All flights are operated with Airbus 320 aircraft.

In Brussels and Amsterdam, Aviapartner has therefore been providing full handling services since 1 July 2007. These services include passenger services (check-in, boarding assistance, baggage tracing services),
aircraft handling (loading and unloading, ground power, headset, pushback and towing, aircraft de-icing), and traffic operations (flight documentation, communication, weight and balance, crew briefing, and flight
supervision).

Poll
How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
