Jet2.com launches summer 08 from Blackpool
Friday, August 24, 2007
Jet2.com, the North’s low cost airline, released seats on its summer 08 routes from its base at Blackpool Airport. The airline, which currently serves seven destinations from Blackpool, places on offer Murcia, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Faro and Malaga.

Jonathan Alcock, Marketing Manager, Jet2.com, said: “We’re thrilled to release seats on our summer 08 season from Blackpool airport and we anticipate very high demand for routes to the best Mediterranean resorts. We decided to make summer 08 available to book early as we’ve had such poor weather in the UK this summer and we thought that people would want a little cheering up. Hopefully some much-needed sun next year can be guaranteed, especially as, the weather has been so disappointing in the UK.”

“This move also underlines our ongoing commitment to Blackpool airport by offering four destinations that are close to some of the best resorts throughout the Mediterranean.”

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
