Jet2holidays.com launches first non-Jet2 breaks
Thursday, September 06, 2007
The first of many more to come was the promise by Jet2holidays.com which announced its first raft of holidays which would not use its own low cost flights as the operator launched winter holidays to Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh.

Jet2holidays.com will initially offer holidays out of Manchester departing on Tuesdays and Sundays with flights through XL Airways – the first holidays will depart on 4th November.

It is a significant announcement from the company which, to date, has only used flights from its own low cost airline, Jet2.com.

The company promised that this is only the start of its planned route expansion plans. Richard Bodin, Managing Director of Jet2holidays.com, said: “We will continue to use Jet2.com flights for the vast majority of our holidays, but it was always our intention to expand beyond their 39 destinations and we will be using other operators where we don’t have Jet2.com access. Since we launched, we have been absolutely delighted with demand for our package holidays and the announcement of great deals to the stunning resort of Sharm El Sheikh is testament to this.”

The company, which only uses three, four and five-star accommodation, believes that its holidays to Sharm El Sheikh will be the most competitive available anywhere in the North of England.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
