Abacus launches client relationship solution for travel agencies
Wednesday, October 03, 2007
The launch of Abacus ClientBase, a specialist solution to assist travel agents to generate customer loyalty and manage customer relationships has been announced by Abacus International. Abacus-connected travel agencies in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and India can subscribe to the solution.

Mr Brett Henry, Vice President of Agency Marketing, Abacus International says Abacus ClientBase will empower travel agencies to build stronger, long-lasting relationships with customers while making trip management more efficient.

“CRM systems have proven their success in many specialty industries that carry a huge profile of customer information. It is timely that travel agencies now have their own comprehensive yet easy-to-use tool like Abacus ClientBase to create more value from customer profiles by identifying new sales opportunities and helping them understand their customers better,” Mr Henry said.

Travel agents have welcomed the launch of a genuine specialist CRM solution for travel agencies. Mr. Satrijanto Tirtawisata, CEO of PT Panorama Sentrawisata said the customisable marketing facilities within the new solution will help elevate their marketing campaigns to the next level.

“The launch of Abacus ClientBase is another extension of Abacus’ commitment to helping travel agencies thrive in the rapidly changing travel distribution market,” Mr Henry concluded.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
