Lavrio municipality to host marina conference

The Lavrio municipality is preparing to host the 2nd European Conference of Municipalities with Marinas next May, with the support of the development ministry, the secretariat for the support of tourist marinas, and the Hellenic Tourism Organisation.
The main goal of the event, in which both Greek and European mayors will participate along with other public officials and private bodies, is to promote cooperation and the discussion of issues affecting the planning, construction and operation of marina<.>s.
The 1st European Conference of Municipalities with Marinas conference resulted in the formation of the Association of European Marina Authorities.
An Athens meeting has been organised for January 10 at which Greek mayors -from Patras, Crete, Glyfada, Lefkada, Rhodes, Kos, Methana, Alimos, Corfu,
Kalymnos and Itea, among others- will be informed on issues raised at the previous forum and those to be presented in May.
