UK tourism authorities launches white paper for meetings and events
Friday, October 19, 2007
Representatives from the events industry including VisitBritain and the Business Tourism Partnership launched a Sustainable Business White Paper to business leaders and MPs designed to highlight the key role played by the events industry in sustaining and supporting Britain’s business communities.

As part of National Meetings Week, which takes place this week, Eventia hosted a strategic breakfast meeting attended by over 60 key opinion formers in the meetings and events industry and members of parliament at the Cabinet War Rooms in Westminster.

Joss Croft, Head of Business Visits & Events, Visit Britain, said: “We are delighted with the support we have seen for this year’s National Meetings Week. It is so important to highlight the positive impact the meetings industry has on business communities and the UK economy. Campaigns such as this need support not only on a national level, but a local level too; the White Paper can be used to get our message out there.”

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
