Expansion Policy

What is your policy to strengthen your company worldwide?

Guests experience and satisfaction has always been our key objectives. We achieve this through innovative products and dedicated services, which create a strong loyalty toward the brand.

The brand integrity and reliability is recognised and proved by independent researches (i.e. BDRC – Business Development Research Consultancy), which puts Hilton as the leading choice hotel brand in its segment.

Strong brand, associated to a top-class management team, powerful sales & marketing programmes and distribution channels are valuable asset when it comes to expansion.

What are the main obstacles – benefits in expanding your brand?

Guests are travelling more and more, both domestically and internationally, for business and for leisure and Hilton Hotels – with its wide choice of different brands targeting different segments – aims at expanding our presence in order to fulfil guests demand for our products.

Which destinations have more dynamic potentials?

In Europe we have seen a tremendous expansion of our presence in Italy and we are growing fast in Spain. At the same time we look with interest to Eastern Europe and in the top leisure destinations to further enrich our offer of Worldwide Resorts. Having also recently entered the mid-market segment in Europe with our brand Scandic by Hilton, we expect to grow in this dynamic segment of the hotel industry not only in primary cities but also in secondary one.

How did your company expand the previous decade and where are you going to invest in the next decade?

We moved from an expansion phase based on ownership and lease of hotels to one where we mainly focus on management and franchise. Our key strengths are the brands and the know-how in managing and maximizing return from a hotel operation. We are committed to maintain and reinforce our leadership position in the hotel industry throughout constant investments in products and services development.

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
