Route servicing licences issued
Monday, December 13, 1999
DANE Lines and Agoudimos Lines have been granted three provisional licences to service the Piraeus-Dodecanese group of routes.
In May DANE<.> will replace its vessel, the Ialysos, with the Sophocles Venizelos which was built in 1990 and reaches speeds of up to 24 knots. A ship built in 1995, which cruises at 21 knots, will take the place of the Leros starting in April.
Strintzis Lines` application for the western Cyclades was approved and in June it will introduce a newly-built ship, which runs at 25 knots, to this set of routes.
Applications for the Dodecanese from Minoan Lines, Attica Enterprises and Minoan Flying Dolphins were rejected by the ferry transport advisory council.
