Monday, July 19, 1999
The privatization of the Hellenic Tourism Organization`s casino<.>s on Parnithas near Athens and on the island of Corfu is now a priority, according to a memo sent recently to the organization`s executives from their secretary general, Evgenios Yiannakopoulos.
The secretary general wants quick action to turn the Parnithas Casino into a private company owned by the organization and under the control of an international auditing firm. Once the aforementioned is completed, he will call for tenders. Both the casino and hotel unit require modernization works.
Concerning the Corfu Casino, Mr. Yiannakopoulos again asked for quick action to prepare the paperwork for a call for tenders.
