Emirates awarded once again for the in-flight entertainment at the World Airline Entertainment Association’s (WAEA) Avion Awards, held in Toronto, Canada – the airline industry’s equivalent of the Oscars for in-flight entertainment. Emirates was lauded for Best IFE in the World - for airlines with a fleet larger than 25 aircraft; Best IFE in the Middle East; and Best IFE Achievement - for the airline’s customer offering during the 2006 FIFA World Cup where it successfully screened all football matches within hours of the game being played, and provided live score updates via its IFE system.
Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts’ website panpacific.com has been conferred the Hotel and Lodging Standard of Excellence at the 2007 WebAwards, the leading worldwide internet competition for website development. The international WebAward Competition recognises the distinctive achievement in web development efforts by the best websites in 96 industries. Panpacific.com won the coveted accolade in the hotel and lodging industry category, having excelled in the seven key judging components such as design, content, copywriting, technology, innovation, ease of use and interactivity.
The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St. Andrews has appointed RAC Hotelier of the Year, Debbie Taylor as new managing director. The hotel has recently named HotelReview’s Scottish Hotel of the Year 2007 and again awarded the AA 5 Red Stars and the AA’s Inspectors Choice award 2007.
