Hotusa Hotels add new associated establishments to the list in October
Thursday, November 08, 2007
Hotusa Hotels has increased its portfolio during the month of October, adding to the list 18 new associated establishments. Of these 18 new establishments now forming part of the Hotusa chain of independent hotels, 13 have become part of the international network while the remaining five are spread over Spanish territory.

In Spain the new additions are located in Andalusia (2), Castile-La Manche (1), Community of Valencia (1) and Galicia (1). At international level, the 13 new associated hotels are to be found in Italy (4), France (2), Portugal (2), Mexico (1), Peru (1), Dominican Republic (1) and Cuba (2), the latest country in which the chain has made its debut with its first two associated hotels.

These are, precisely, the five-star Hotel Saratoga and the four-star Hotel Telegrafo, two sumptuous establishments located in the very centre of Havana. With these new additions, the hotel group is now present in 44 countries throughout the world, reinforcing its objective of expanding its international presence and diversifying its portfolio, both in the traditional destinations as well as in the emergent tourist marketplaces on a world-wide scale.

In this context, Hotusa Hotels have added their first two hotels in China. The company intends to continue with their expansion plans on the Asian continent over the next few months with new additions in China, given the enormous tourist interest that this destination arouses as host to the 2008 Olympic Games, as well as in India and other South-East Asian countries.

In addition, Hotusa Hotels have made their entrance throughout this year in another of the tourist areas with the greatest growth expectations: the Balkans. In May, the first associated establishment in Montenegro was included, while Croatia was added to the list in June, with five hotels. Finally, the chain of independent hotels made its debut at the beginning of the year in Venezuela.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
