Friday, September 06, 2002
The British Tourist Authority (BTA<.>) announced Birmingham as host city for its Meeting and Incentive Travel Workshop, where around 80 of the MICE industry`s top overseas buyers will be on a special mission - to become the best of British intelligence. The event will take place from 7-9 March 2003 and will showcase Britain`s magnificent range of unique venues, memorable events, VIP packages and service providers.
As well as the opportunity to meet face-to-face with around 45 UK suppliers, in a series of one-to-one meetings at the ICC (International Convention Centre), Birmingham, the action-packed programme will give buyers all the tools they need to become special agents for Britain. They will experience first-hand the unrivalled range of first-class facilities on offer in Britain, from the luxury of the Hyatt Regency Birmingham to dining in the Victorian splendour of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The grand finale sees agents as the special guests of the Red Knight in one of Britain`s finest historic venues, Warwick Castle.
Overseas buyers are already keen to accept their mission and to participate in what is without doubt an exciting and varied programme. `This workshop is a great way to build on the success of Britain as a MICE destination,` says Adam Bates, BTA`s Head of Business Tourism, `offering buyers a selection of unforgettable experiences that are not available anywhere else in the world and equipping them to become special agents for Britain.`
