Green partnership to bring new green standards for hotels
Friday, November 16, 2007
Green Vacation Hub and Eco Crown Hospitality have partnered to strengthen the power of green travel, while boosting the hospitality industry with certified green standards. In an age of eco-awareness, green standards vary wildly from hotel to hotel. According to the two companies, Green Vacation Hub and Eco Crown Hospitality will offer a reliable, universal system of measurement for green accommodations.

Properties listed on these websites participate in established and approved ‘green’ programs — with many of the properties exceeding the required standards.

As part of the new partnership, consumers will now have access to comprehensive details on reputable green properties.

“It’s critical that hoteliers walk their talk when it comes to making claims about their hotels being green,” notes Glenn Hasek, editor/publisher of Green Lodging News. “Travelers today are eco-smart and will quickly notice exaggerated claims.”

“We're very excited to be partnering with a company that offers such a top-notch green lodging certification program. We are hoping that all of our members will look into getting certified in order to offer that higher level of green guarantee to their visitors,” says Lisa Gray, founder/owner of Green Vacation Hub.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
