Friday, November 30, 2007
easyJet will introduce a new route from London Gatwick to the Greek city of Thessaloniki this spring. The new three times weekly service will commence on 30 January 2008. The summer schedule, for travel beyond March, will be available within the next few weeks.

David Osborne, easyJet UK General Manager, commented: "Thessaloniki is the second Greek destination easyJet will offer from the UK and we expect to carry over 41,000 passengers on the route this summer. The addition of this new service takes the total number of routes available from our largest base at Gatwick to 44, reinforcing our position as Gatwick favourite European airline."

easyJet adds new route from Newcastle to Murcia

easyJet would also introduce a new route from Newcastle to the Spanish city of Murcia this spring. The new three times weekly service will commence on 17 May 2008.

This new destination will be particularly popular as a family hotspot and a mini break destination and easyJet expects to carry 41,000 passengers on this new route in the first 12 months of operation.

Osborne commented: "Murcia has proven to be a popular destination from other easyJet bases in the UK and now independent travellers from the North-East can take advantage of this new service from our Newcastle base, to one of the Spain’s most popular city’s which provides easy access to the picturesque Costa Dorada. This new route will increase the number of easyJet destinations from Newcastle to 17, re-enforcing easyJet’s commitment to the North East."
