ITB Supply to follow 2006 success
Friday, December 07, 2007
Following a successful launch in 2006 the section known as ITB Supply is now taking place for the third time. The presence of Germany’s and the world’s leading hotel groups at the ITB Berlin 2008 provides an ideal basis for the commercial success of suppliers to the tourism sector at this trade show as the organizers of the trade show said. The effectiveness of ITB Supply has been underlined by the involvement of the trade publication Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung. The AHGZ, which reflects changing trends in the industry and serves as its mouthpiece, is acting as the official partner of ITB Supply for the first time and has its own stand in Hall 7.1c.

Both the concept and the location of ITB Supply have proved their effectiveness. ITB Supply occupies the area between Halls 8.1 and 9, where international hotel chains, carriers and other tourism companies are exhibiting, and the ITB Berlin Convention Market Trends & Innovations in Halls 7.1a and 7.1b. With its many outstanding papers on technical and specialist topics this convention is a major attraction for trade visitors and hotel managers, and helps to promote synergies between the two areas.

Leading supplier companies will be presenting their products at ITB Supply 2008. They include the manufacturer of exclusive baths, Kaldewei, a leader in the hotel bed sector, Mühldorfer, the well-known hotel outfitter JAB ANSTOETZ, known in particular for its fine fabrics and carpets, a manufacturer of high quality porcelain for hotels, RAK Porcelain, a supplier of restaurant furniture, GO IN, and the publishing company Fluhrer Verlag, a specialist in the preparation and production of food and drink menus.

In addition to a wide and varied range of hotel fittings and furnishings, equipment for wellness areas and guest supplies, exhibitors are also showing items for the travel industry as a whole, such as leisure facilities, advertising and promotional products, signs/name tags, marketing/PR, bicycle concepts, mobility services and environmental technology.

The wide range of products and services offered by the suppliers in this section is bound to be of interest to trade visitors and exhibitors at the ITB Berlin who represent every area of the added value chain in the tourism industry.

This is an ideal opportunity for hotel managers, tour operators, travel agents and their counter staff, tourism organisations journalists and travel managers to learn more about the products and services on offer.

Poll
The imminent privatization of Olympic Airlines is expected to change the fate of this debt-laden airline. What do you think the new owner should do in regard to the brand name of the Greek national flag carrier?.

Keep “Olympic Airlines” as the name of the company as it remains a strong brand.

The company should keep “Olympic” as an element of its name but refresh the brand (e.g. “New Olympic Airlines”).

The airline should drop “Olympic” from its name. This brand has lost its value and isn’t relevant to the market anymore.
