Inveravante and Hotusa reach an agreement for new hotels in Corunna
Monday, December 10, 2007

Inveravante and the Hotusa Group have reached an agreement whereby the hotel chain will take charge of the running of two hotels belonging to the Group in Corunna. These are a four-star hotel on the Alfonso Molina Avenue, up to now operated by Barcelo, and the Aparthotel As Galeras, situated by the beach at Bastiagueiro, in the municipality of Oleiros.

The first of the two will become part of the Eurostars Hotels brand. The hotel covers a surface area of almost 20,000 square metres, has 160 rooms, including 8 junior and 8 full-scale suites.

On the other hand, the Bastiagueiro establishment has 96 rooms. A study is currently underway to change the category of this hotel and upgrade it to four stars, endowing it with new services, primarily to provide facilities for meetings and receptions.

These two establishments are added to the Hotusa Group’s hotel division in Corunna, a city in which the Group already operates the four-star Eurostars Ciudad de la Coruna. This is a four-star establishment that was completely renovated in 2003 and is located on the Museums route, close to the Domus, the Aquarium and 200 metres from the Hercules Tower, on the sea front.

Also in Galicia, the group operates the four-star Eurostars Auriense (Ourense) and the Mosteiro San Clodio Hotel Monument (Leiro, Ourense), all part of the Eurostars hotel chain, plus the Gran Hotel Area Central and the Monte do Gozo Holiday Resort (Santiago de Compostela).

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
