SWISS adds more flights to Manchester and Prague
Friday, December 14, 2007
SWISS proceeded to seasonal adjustments to its schedule in response to customer needs. As of December 22, Switzerland's national airline will fly five times weekly from EuroAirport to Manchester. Prague will be served six times weekly from January 10.

These adjustments to the SWISS winter timetable, which runs until March 29, 2008, give SWISS customers even more flexibility in planning their winter sport vacations in Switzerland and neighbouring regions in other countries. SWISS is responding to strong demand for flights between Basel and Manchester during the winter season by adding a Saturday flight on this route. As of December 22, SWISS customers have five weekly connections to choose from, with flights available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Service to Prague is also being expanded.

SWISS will increase service to the Czech capital to six times weekly between January 10 and March 29. These flights will operate Monday through Friday and on Sunday.

In order to meet customer demand for more flights on these two routes during the winter months, SWISS will cease serving Nice from EuroAirport as of January 4 until the end of the winter timetable period. However, four daily flights to Nice via Zurich will continue to be available to all SWISS customers during the winter months.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
