RAK Airways commences flights to Beirut

RAK Airways, UAE’s fourth national carrier commenced flights to Beirut yesterday (13 December 2007). The full-service airline will fly to Beirut three times a week, and plans to increase the frequency of flights in the near future.

Commenting on its first flight to Beirut, Captain Khalid Almeer, Chief Operating Officer of RAK Airways, said: “I am very pleased to announce the launch of our services to Beirut. Beirut marks the third destination to our portfolio; we are already flying to Dhaka and Colombo.”

He further added, “Passenger response has already surpassed our expectations and the upcoming holiday season has further brightened the picture.”

RAK Airways was launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. The airline also plans to unveil more destinations, including cities in the GCC countries, India, Nepal, and Tanzania, within three to six months as part of an ambitious growth strategy.
