Carlson Hotels adds new properties to its global portfolio

Carlson Hotels Worldwide announced the addition of eight new locations to its global portfolio during November 2007. The new hotels include one Radisson SAS property in the United Kingdom's Channel Islands; five Country Inn & Suites By Carlsonsm hotels in the United States; and two Park Inn hotels - one in the Sheffield, England, and one in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Carlson's worldwide portfolio now totals 964 hotels with 146,509 rooms in 70 countries.

Carlson hotel brands also include Regent Hotels & Resorts and Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts.

"Our development momentum continues to be strong as we are nearing the end of 2007," said Jay Witzel, president and CEO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide. "Since the beginning the year, we have added 70 hotels, along with 134 new hotels signed globally. Our brands are expanding in both new and existing markets, providing our customers more choices worldwide. We look forward to accelerating our growth in 2008," he added.

This year, Carlson Hotels Worldwide continues to report significant RevPAR gains resulting from the roll-out of a new industry leading revenue optimization program that focuses on revenue management and forecasting. October year-to-date, Carlson's Radisson brand continues to achieve RevPAR growth in the United States which outperformed the Smith Travel Research Upscale Chain segment as published in their monthly U.S. Lodging Review report.

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?
