Royal Jet has promoted UAE national Captain
Mohamed Saif Al Mazroui as Director of Flight Operations. Capt. Al Mazroui takes up the appointment after a successful aviation career spanning 27 years – the majority with Abu Dhabi’s Amiri Flight – during which he has flown various Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
“This appointment comes at a time of intense expansion for Royal Jet and Captain Al Mazroui’s experience will assist us in not just maintaining our market leadership position but significantly expanding it,” said Shane O’Hare, President & CEO, Royal Jet. “It is also another boost to our management restructuring, undertaken to progress our aggressive five-year business plan, which focuses on appointing best-of-breed expertise with the knowledge and know-how to live up to our shareholders’ expectations.”
In his new role, Al Mazroui will be responsible for fleet safety aspects, real-situation assessment of pilot recruitment, optimum pilot performance and flight crew Emiratisation.
“As a UAE national pioneer within the local aviation sector, Captain Al Mazroui understands the challenges Emiratis face when embarking on a career within this competitive industry,” explained Captain Andy Bray, Royal Jet’s Vice President Operations. “This in-depth understanding will bring a new dimension to our Emiratisation programme which we wish to significantly progress in our five-year expansion plan.”
Royal Jet’s five-year expansion plan is aimed at achieving turnover of US $500 million by 2012 – a five-fold increase on its current status. The plan envisages a fleet of more than 20 aircraft – up from the current 12 – with new orders being mostly centred on the large-to-mid-range capacity category.
