Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has taken yet another important step in its Middle East expansion strategy. A management agreement for a modern 5-star hotel in the heart of the Syrian capital, Damascus has just been signed with the owning company Toumeh International Group. The new Mövenpick Hotel Damascus, which will form part of a large shopping mall, is already under construction and scheduled for completion in 2010.

“Syria in general and Damascus in particular have long been on our expansion wish-list as a cultural and religious centre in the region,” says Andreas Mattmüller, Senior Vice President Middle East & Asia Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
