Viagens Abreu implements Partners Software low.fare
Friday, February 29, 2008

Partners Software, the Bremen-based travel IT company, has won a major contract to supply Portugal’s largest and oldest travel-agency chain, Viagens Abreu S.A with its Low.Fare XML product. Viagens Abreu was founded in 1840. Today it employs almost a thousand people worldwide in 120 agencies and offices from Portugal to Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro to New York.

Abreu will use Partner’s products to provide low-cost airfares in Abreu’s online portal, integrating with Galileo and Abreu’s own back office systems.

“This integration into existing systems means the LowFare XML complements the flight portfolio without any additional and costly work,” says Kai Hannemann, Managing Director of Partners Software.

The new system will also provide a mechanism for the agencies’ tax and margin calculation, connecting specific credit-card calculations for Abreu into Low.Fare. It will also link the company’s partial systems for process- and administration cycles.
