Eastern Airways launches more flights from the regions
Monday, March 03, 2008

Eastern Airways increases flights and introduces extra seat capacity from Aberdeen and Newcastle airports as the carrier announced. On Monday (3 March), the UK regional airline will increase services from five to six flights each weekday from Aberdeen to Newcastle; from three to four a day from Aberdeen to Southampton and from three to four a day from Newcastle to Southampton. Larger 50 seat Saab 2000 aircraft providing up to 60% more capacity will operate flights on those routes.

Starting from 7 April 2008, there will also be additional weekday services on the following routes:

Aberdeen to Leeds Bradford: increases to 4 a day
Newcastle to Cardiff: increases to 3 a day
Newcastle to Stavanger: increases to 2 a day
Southampton to Leeds Bradford: increases to 4 a day
Manchester to London Stansted: increases to 4 a day

Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer, said: “Business commuters want punctual, convenient flights specifically timed to suit their travel patterns and our increased services enable us to provide a comprehensive schedule to meet their needs and expectations.  To complement these additional services we have introduced excellent value lower one way fares, which will also appeal to leisure travellers.”

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
