NBTA and TTG Asia Media to host second China Corporate Travel & Technology World
Friday, March 07, 2008

The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) and TTG Asia Media have partnered once again to offer the second China Corporate Travel & Technology World (CT&TW), an event focused on corporate travel in the China market. CT&TW will be held on April 8 & 9, 2008, in Shanghai, China’s most populated city and one of the world’s leading financial centers. This year, more than 300 corporate travel buyers and suppliers from the United States, China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region are expected to attend the event which will be held at the Regent Shanghai.

NBTA Vice President Michael Lyons, who will be in attendance, commented, “The China economy is flourishing and business travel is on a steady rise throughout the country. Global corporate travel managers - now more than ever - need to become more knowledgeable about the dynamics of this thriving travel market. NBTA is pleased to once again partner with TTG Asia Media to assist travel managers in expanding their expertise in China.”

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural CT&TW, the event this year has built on the needs of the China market to offer eight education sessions and three general sessions presented and moderated by renowned industry experts. These sessions will offer simultaneous translation in English and Mandarin.

TTG Asia Media’s Managing Director, Darren Ng said, “We are excited to again join forces with NBTA for the second CT&TW. Combining the resources of US-based NBTA and TTG Asia last year brought together top business travel professionals from across the USA, China, and other Asia-Pacific Countries. We are sure the event this year will provide even more opportunities to learn, share, and establish and renew relationships with peers from around the world.”

Education Sessions at the 2008 CT&TW will include:

• Selecting the Right Travel Partner
• Building a Travel Management Program - Why It Is Important For You and Your Company?
• The Hotel Industry Challenge
• Why Should a Buyer Select You and Not Your Competition? (suppliers only)
• Data 2008 and Beyond
• What is Your Travel Program Worth?
• Airline Pricing: Fare Basis vs. Fare Class, and Revenue Management in China
• Requests for Proposal (RFP) - Necessity or Hindrance (suppliers only)

The Exhibitor & Technology World Showcase will be available at three separate times over the two days. The Showcase features current and future technologies, products and services from travel and technology suppliers from the United States and Asia-Pacific countries.

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
