Starwood to manage a new Luxury Collection and a new Westin Resort in Greece
Friday, March 28, 2008

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced the signing of management agreements with TEMES S.A., to operate two new luxury resort hotels in Greece: Romanos Navarino Dunes Resort, The Luxury Collection and The Westin Navarino Dunes Resort. Both properties are located in Costa Navarino in the region of Messinia in southwest Peloponnese.

Costa Navarino is a new high-end tourism destination in the Mediterranean. Untouched by mass tourism, the region of Messinia harbors cultural values, traditions and a history of more than 4,500 years, which live in harmony with one of the most stunning scenic landscapes of the Mediterranean.  It is a land of rolling hills and rugged mountains, protected bays and beaches, and broad valleys of lush olive groves, fields and vineyards.

“We are delighted about the trust and confidence Temes S.A. has shown in Starwood and in The Luxury Collection brand” said Roeland Vos, President of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Europe, Africa & Middle East. “We are fully committed to provide exceptional service and great emotional experiences to our global customers while growing our already exceptional Luxury Collection brand portfolio. The Romanos Navarino Dunes Resort, The Luxury Collection will offer unforgettable stays with a distinctive and inspiring character, while The Westin Navarino Dunes Resort will nurture its customers, elevating their senses with a very instinctive and personal sense of hospitality.”

Achilles Constantakopoulos, Managing Director of TEMES, added: “We are delighted to welcome Starwood to Costa Navarino. We believe that a leading international operator like Starwood is an invaluable partner in our joint efforts to establish Costa Navarino as a new high-end destination in the Mediterranean.  Our goal is to provide unique enriching experiences to our guests in a setting of exceptional natural beauty and cultural history.”

The two resort hotels built in villa clusters are located in Navarino Dunes near the picturesque town of Pylos.

Romanos Navarino Dunes Resort, The Luxury Collection, will offer 321 appointed rooms and suites with 142 private infinity pools in addition to an extensive common pool area.

The Westin Navarino Dunes Resort, will offer 445 deluxe rooms and suites with 123 private infinity pools in addition to an extensive common pool area.

Hotel guests will be able to enjoy a 3,300 m2 Spa and Thalassotherapy Center located within the resort complex.

Navarino Dunes will feature the first signature golf course in Greece designed by Bernhard Langer in association with European Golf Design. A second 18-hole golf course in neighboring Navarino Bay, designed by Robert Trent Jones II, is also under construction. Both courses will be managed by Troon Golf. Additional golf courses in the vicinity will follow at a later development stage which, along with the favorable climate conditions, will establish Costa Navarino as an internationally recognized year-round golf destination.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. is present in Greece with eight other properties: the legendary and historic Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens, the Astir Palace Complex located in a magnificent private peninsula in Vouliagmeni - Athens, which includes the Westin Athens, the Arion Resort & Spa and the W Athens (opening mid 2009) - the Blue Palace Resort & Spa in Elounda - Crete, the Santa Marina Resort in Mykonos as well as the Vedema Resort and the Mystique in Santorini.
