Jet2holidays.com with extra capacity to meet demand
Monday, April 07, 2008

Statistics released from Jet2holidays.com show that 63% of its passengers are travelling within ten weeks of booking and the tour operator has now secured additional hotel beds to meet a booming lates market. The company, which will offer three, four and five-star package holidays from six UK airports, is the North’s fastest growing tour operator – it experienced strong sales at the start of the year and has now had to add extra summer lates capacity to meet anticipated demand.

Four of its most popular routes – Spain, Cyprus, Sardinia, and Sharm el Sheikh – have had the biggest volume increases.

Mandy Round, General Manager at Jet2holidays.com, said: “Statistics show that over the last twelve months 63% of holidays were taken within ten weeks of making the booking.

“If this trend continues then we would have potentially been looking at a shortfall in supply coming into our June-July-August busiest period, so we have taken the decision now to add more capacity.

“It’s good news for our customers as we have been able to maintain our supply of high quality three, four and five-star accommodation, but we have managed to keep our prices rock bottom on all duration holidays.”
