Silverjet witnesses surge in passenger traffic
Wednesday, April 09, 2008

Exclusively class airline Silverjet has recently announced record passenger traffic figures, reporting a 23% increase for March 2008. Lawrence Hunt, Chief Executive of Silverjet, said: “We are delighted to report another record month of passenger statistics with all three of our routes increasing significantly, giving us our highest ever monthly revenues in March.”

Silverjet attributes part of this success to its increasing appeal to corporate customers, who have found that the airline’s premium service not only responds to their business travel needs, but enables them to fly at a more sensible price as compared to business class travel on the traditional airlines.

“Silverjet's premium service and fares are attracting an increasing number of corporate customers, many of which are switching from the legacy carriers to benefit from our competitive prices and exceptional service,” said Hunt.

In March, Silverjet recorded both the largest ever gross profit and the smallest operating loss since it started flying multiple aircraft, despite an increase in fuel costs, indicating solid progress towards achieving its objective of becoming profitable in the near future.

Poll
How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
