What is CULTOUR?
Wednesday, April 09, 2008
First of all, it’s a two day professional travel trade show where worldwide venues and travel and tourism related service providers can meet with product development managers of tour operating -wholesalers- companies and travel agencies producing and promoting cultural travel related programs, sold either directly to the consumer or via retail travel agencies.

These product development buyers are from major markets: Germany, the rest of Europe, the USA, Japan, China… Secondly, on the weekend, CULTOURFEST opens to the general public to visit the supplier stands and obtain information on worldwide travel products and destinations, as well as to enjoy cultural activities offered by the exhibitors, such as music, folkloric dances and World’s beverages and foods tasting.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
